Mindful Passages Presentations
Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care is important – no matter your age or health status, explore why, who, and how.
If you were suddenly, due to an accident or a severe illness, unable to speak for yourself? Who would speak for you? Who will tell the doctors what to do for you? It may not be who you think it is. I draw on my 47 years of intensive care and emergency room nursing experience to illustrate the importance of designating who will speak for you if you are unable to.
“I want everything done! Do you know what you are asking for?”
This is what I have witnessed many people say as they or a loved one were in the midst of a health crisis. I have also had many patients and families later say that they didn’t know what they were asking for and aren’t sure they would have made that request if they had known what ‘everything’ might involve. Let’s consider what “I want everything done” might entail so you can make more informed choices.
Ask an End-of-Life Doula
Let’s gather for 1 or 2 hours of Q&A about end-of-life issues and options, our inevitable mortality, other related topics including just what does an end-of-life doula do. I will draw on my training, personal experiences and 47 years as an intensive care and emergency room nurse.
