Death (and Life) Cafe: an opportunity to discuss our inevitable mortality
At a Death Cafe, people drink tea, eat cake, and discuss death. The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group not a grief support or counseling session.
Death Cafes are offered:
- On a not for profit basis
- In a respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake – your own in this case!
If you find this event of value and desire to support future gatherings, there will be an opportunity make a donation.

Most people believe that one’s body must be embalmed and that being buried in a cemetery under a cement vault is the only way to be buried. Some are aware that they may donate their body to science as a means of disposition of the body after death. Yet these are not the only ways of body disposition after death – let’s talk about them.
- Learn about new and evolving options for body disposition
- Donation, Burial, Fire, Earth or Water
- Learn about ecological implications of our choices for disposition of a body
- Learn what options are available in the Ludington area
- Consider which options are best for you
